Diamond D SN 100

Project time: 8 Weeks

After the Diamond D ran aground off the peninsula of Ardnamurchan, the Diamond D sustained excessive damage to the fore end of the vessel and was taken to Tobermory, where upon being temporarily patched the vessel travelled up to Mallaig with an escort.

The vessel was then slipped, where by the stem was replaced, along with 52 planks, 10 deck planks and a couple of frames.

During the repair process, the shelter deck was re-attached to the new top rail. When the planks were steamed and fitted in place the seams where caulked and filled with wood filler. Once the filler had set the excess filler was sanded, the hull was painted and the bottom was anti-fouled.

The Diamond D has successfully returned to fishing.
